Abstract:

The stud of new magnetic devices for computers creates a need for a practical flux-switching model. This paper presents most of the analytical flux-switching models which have been proposed in the past, together with some new ones, in a common terminology. These models are compared with each other and with experimental results whic are included. For generality, the models are considered as descriptive of the magnetization M Loop magnetization in ampmeterAS A FUNCTION OF T E APPD MAGNETIC EXCITATION H. The analytical models are evaluated by comparing experimental phit Time in seconds curves from thick-walled cores with analytical curves obtained by integrating Mt models over core dimensions for a number of different constant mmf values. The material Telemeter T5 used for the experiments is a low-threshold, square-loop ferrite. Considerable care was taken to maintain good accuracy throughout the entire process of experimental verification T e paper contains discussions and conclusions on the relative merits of the various models considered.
