Abstract:

This analysis presents a limited statistical treatment of recently acquired density and pressure data between 30 and 68 km. These data were derived from direct temperature and height measurements made with meteorological rockets fired at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico and Fort Churchill, Canada, during Meteorological Rocket Network Activities and normal range support. Primary emphasis is given to seasonal and latitudinal variations. The density variation with respect to all of the data at a particular altitude, is as much as 50 in some cases. Another significant feature relative to the value of the data is the remarkable consistency of a group of data for a particular season and station.
