Abstract:
OBSERVATIONS OF THE LUMINANCE OF THE SKY WITH AND WITHOUT POLAROIDS, USING THE VISUAL PHOTOMETER, WERE CARRIED OUT IN 1956 AND 1957 AT A MOUNTAIN OBSERVATORY h equals 1450 m above sea level, at the Aksengerskiy Sovkhoz h equals 500 m in the vicinity of Alma Ata, and in the Libyan desert of Egypt h equals 200 m. Measurements were also made along the solar almucantar. The solar radiation and luminance of the near-sun aureole were simultaneously measured using an aureole photometer with a selenium cell, at various zenith solar distances. Author
