Abstract:

A method was developed for determining the rate of diffusion of H through various steels at high temperatures and pressures. The principal feature of the method was the avoidance of welded joints on the computational surface of the metal through which the gas diffuses. The rate of diffusion of H through 1Kh18N9T steel was studiedAT 500 C with H pressures to 300 kgsq cm, at 600 to 800 C and pressures to 200 kgsq cm, at 900 C and 100 kgsq cm, at 950 C and 75 kgsq cm and at 1000 C and 50 kgsq cm on 6 tubular samples. The difference in the values of the rate of diffusion during the testing of various samples did not exceed 5. There was a parabolic dependence between the rate of H diffusion and the H pressure within the tubular sample. Author
