Abstract:
The results of an experimental study of the propagation characteristics of sea water for a highpower electromagnetic transient wave are presented. The methods of the transient wave generation and reception are described. The results consider the non-linear frequency characteristics of the medium as they relate to the attenuationAND DELAY OF THE PROPAGATED WAVE. The observed transient received signal characteristics as a function of both distance and depth are compared with those calculated for continuous-wave signals in sea water medium.Author
