Abstract:

Minor parts were designed and made for the transmitter, as well as the case and cover. The mixer amplifier was also designed. Four voltage controlled oscillator testing units were constructed for the following frequencies channel 13, 14.5 kc 7.5 A, 22 kc 15 B, 40 kc 15, C, 70 kc 15. The electrical performance specifications were met or exceeded for all units. A typical temperature stability and linearly performance is given. The fabrication and testing of the events multiplexer was completed. The unit was potted and tested over the temperature range of 0 to 75 C. The only detectable change in performance was a slight drift in the clock frequency of 20 cps. This is approximately a 0.2 drift. Due to the design of the gates which operate as synchronous clamps, no detectable output level drift was observed. The repackaging and size reduction of the mixer amplifier was accomplished by utilizing smaller components and a higher packing density. The transmitter modulator and the RF power amplifier were cascaded with satisfactory reeults. Power output was approximately 410 mw. Author
