Abstract:

This program has as its purpose the demonstration of the feasibility of the production of metallic molybdenum by the Kroll process, thus avoiding both the arc-melting and powder metallurgy methods of production with their shortcomings. More specifically, the feasibility of production of an alloy of molybdenum with 0.5 titanium is to be demonstrated, with the possibility of adding carbon as an ultimately necessary modification of the final alloy.
