Abstract:

Data are presented showing the unique action of Vibrio cholera andor its products on the sodium transport mechanism of the isolated frog skin. Some notions based on the NaK pump theory of Koefoed-Johnsen and Ussing are evolved to explain the results. These notions and some of their consequences are discussed in relation to the clinical pathology of cholera as reported in the literature. Author
