Abstract:

Efforts were made to determine the suitability of the ANURC-10 Personal Rescue Radio for Army use under arctic winter conditions. The ANURC-10 personal rescue radio is a subminiaturized, completely transistorized UHF radio set. It consists of a crystal-controlled receiver-transmitter, a 16-v dry battery, and a power cable assembly. The unit operates in the 240-260 mc frequency band. Line of sight tone transmission and voice communication ranges for this equipment are approximately 30 naut mi. After review of test results, it was concluded that the ANURC-10 is suitable for Army use under arctic winter conditions. Author
