Abstract:

An investigation of the pyrolysis of triethyl aluminum TEA was undertaken preliminary to a study of the kinetic mechanism involved in its ignition. The thermal decomposition reactions were homogeneous. The main decomposition products were H, butenes, ethylene, and Al. Ethane was a minor product. Polyethylene, traces of methaneAND PROPYLENE SOMETIMES APPEARED. The mechanism was molecular. Author
