Abstract:

A sampled-data control system is considered in which the plant transfer function is a constant divided by an NTH-order polynomial in s. The control signal ft goes through a sampler of period T and a zero-order hold circuit. The problem is given an arbitrary set of initial conditions, find the control ft, satisfying ft equals or is less than 1, and the corresponding optimal strategy to generate that control which will bring the system to equilibrium in the minimum number of sampling periods.
