Abstract:
Research and theoretical speculations concerning the human link as one source of vulnerability in military communication systems are highlighted. The following factors were concerned 1 Characteristics of the message, including amount of information and readability 2 The physical environment, with specific reference to noise, atmospheric and thermal conditions, and stress including isolation and confinement and 3 Characteristics of the human operator including sensory, perceptual and intellectual capacities vigilance and susceptibility to fatigue training and memory social, motivational and personality factors and psychopathology.
