Abstract:

Study was made of the effect of cyclic changes in sintering temperature between the critical points A sub 2 and A sub 3 on the magnetic properites of sintered Fe. Tests were conducted on specimens D 12 mm, d 8 mm, and h 8 mm, which were pressed from reduced iron powder. The specimens were sintered in a H atmosphere in a tubular electric furnace with low thermal inertia, thereby making it possible to perform cyclic sintering for an entire six-minute reversible cycle. It is shown that cyclical sintering is not accompanied by a more rapid rate of change of magnetic properties and density. Author
