Abstract:

The electric charge on the nose of a rapidly flying body changes the intensity of the bodys deceleration. The use of this effect in the development of a deceleration engine for space vehicles is discussed. In explaining the possibility of using the kinetic energy of a space body for deceleration, the reentry processes for both electrically conductive meteors and dielectric meteors are described.
