Abstract:

The method of Greens functions in the theory of many fermion systems has been recently developed by Gorkov and Migdal for the case of superconducting systems. Some further applications of their formalism are given for zero- and for finite temperatures. The pair distribution function of a superconducting system of fermions is calculated by this method. The perturbation theory for impurities in superconductors described by one-particle operators is further discussed. The problem of residual two-body forces in a superconducting system is discussed. A reaction matrix-type treatment of such forces corresponding to a ladder approximationperturbation theory is indicated. Author
