Abstract:

Studies on the local actions of epinephrine and norepinephrine on the coronary vascular bed of the beating and fibrillating dog heart indicate that the direct effect of these agents on coronary vessels is active constriction wherease the indirect metabolic effect is active dilatation. The former may predominate when the concentration is low and the latter always predominates when the concentration is high. Author
