Abstract:

The ratio of the E- ield losses to the H-field losses in a ground with a ground wire system is calculat d. Numerical computations of this ratio as a function of the constants of the wire grid and the conductivity of the ground are performed for an electromagnetic field, where the vertical electric field strength at the ground plane is equal to the product of the impedance of free space and the tangential magnetic field strength at the surface of the ground. The ratio of the E-field losses to the H-field losses for a certain antenna system may be determined from these results if the ratio between the electric and the magnetic field strength is known at each point of the ground surface around the antenna system.
