The results of this analysis were coded and presented in diagrammatic form to show alternative courses of action that may result in successful completion of a mission phase. Instances of pilot decision making were identified and a way of conceptualizing decision making so as to encoRipass these instances was proposed. The more prominent decision theories were reviewed briefly and the applicability of each theory to the problem of pilot decision making was considered Problem areas requiring experimental study were discusred and some approaches to the study of these problems were suggested.
