Abstract:

The patent describes a space radiation dosimetry system using a portable ionization chamber mountable in a housing containing associated electronics and a linear energy transfer LET spectrometer with associated electronics. The LET spectrometer uses a pair of solid state detectors in combination with amplifiers, a discretionary number of discriminator channels, logic circuits and counters to measure the linear energy transfer spectrum of high energy ionizing radiations.
