INCIPIENT CAVITATION AND BOUNDARY LAYER INTERACTION ON A STREAMLINED BODY

An experimental investigation of the effect of the boundary layer on cavitation inception for a smooth streamlined body of revolution is described. The influence of air diffusion upon the observed results is also discussed, in addition, this study has shown that tensions exists in the flow of ordinary water at incipient cavitation.
