Abstract:
The tabulated data include an outline of basic principles involved in application of a given technique, a description of the experimental arrangement, and key references to be consulted for further details. Optical methods for the determination of temperatures of isothermal radiators include 1 determination of brightness temperatures, 2 two-color temperatures, 3 line-reversal temperatures, 4 the 2-path method, 5 compensated hot-wire method, 6 population temperatures, and 7 temperature measurements utilizing spectral line shape. Optical methods for measuring temperatures for nonisothermal emitters include 1 reversal temperatures for nonisothermal emitters, 2 reversal temperatures utilizing measurements of spectral line shape, and 3 population temperatures.
