Abstract:
2.2-Dinitropropane formed face-centered cubic crystals at room temperature, with a sub-o 8.78 or - 0.05 A, and 4 moleculesunit cell. For the models considered, the agreement between observed and calculated factors was uniformly better for the centrosymmetric case than for the noncetrosymmetric case. It was suggested that although the disorder is complete at long range, there is a high degree of order at short range.
