SEA VENOM NF. MK.20 WK.379 (GHOST 3) DECK LANDING ASSESSMENT AND DECK TRIALS (BY DAY) ON THE SECOND PROTOTYPE
AEROPLANE AND ARMAMENT EXPERIMENTAL ESTABLISHMENT BOSCOMBE DOWN (UNITED KINGDOM)
Pagination or Media Count:
The trim changes of the aircraft with power and speed are too large and the elevator stick forces too heavy for deck landing. The combined result is a tendency for the aircraft to become too low on the approach, and the lost height cannot be regained easily without changing the power. No stall warning is provided, but the hook damping is now satisfactory.
