Abstract : A description is given of an apparatus developed for the determination of carbon monoxide and air mixtures ranging in concentration from 0.01-0.1% and higher, if necessary. The principle of the apparatus is dependent upon the heat developed when carbon monoxide reacts with oxygen on a hopcalite surface. The apparatus is simple in construction, unusually easy to operate, entirely automatic in operation, and requires little servicing. Although it is limited in its sensitivity, the apparatus might well be used in a number of places where appreciable amounts of carbon monoxide might be found.
