Abstract : This study investigates the role of the corps ADA brigade in support of corps and division contingency operations, in view of the numerous corps missions and the need to reinforce the divisional air defense element. The concept presented is one that allows the corps level critical assets while also simultaneously providing air defense networks throughout the corps area of operation. The corps is the first level where the U.S. Air Force integrates its air defense capabilities along with those of the U.S. Army. This study emphasizes the importance of this relationship between the U.S. Air Force and the corps air defense artillery brigade. The study explains the rationale behind the use of air defense networks throughout the corps area of operations. This study promotes the forward deployment of our weapon systems to extend the air defense artillery brigade's offensive capabilities. This forward deployment is necessary for the brigade to engage aircraft deep within the corps' area of interest as opposed to the corps' area of operations.
