Abstract : An experimental program is conducted having the dual goals of verifying quasisteady analyses of muzzle gasdynamics and investigating muzzle device effects on projectile accuracy. Firings are performed using a muzzle adaptor to increase blast loadings without altering the mechanical launch environment. The resulting data compare well with quasi-steady analysis and indicates that amplified muzzle gasdynamic loadings can significantly increase dispersion.
