Abstract : The ATEST (Advanced Turbine Engine Seal Test) Program focused on the design, manufacture, and test of an advanced turbine shroud and support structure for the GE14/J1B3 demonstrator engine. Two distinct shroud segment designs were tested side by side in the engine: a transpiration-cooled shroud utilizing Poroloy as the transpiring media and a film-impingement-cooled design. Heat transfer data utilized in the establishment of the engine hardware were generated under Contract F33615-72-C-1775. Both high temperature performance and cyclic endurance testing were performed. Transient and steady-state temperature and pressure data were measured and compared to predicted values.
