Abstract : As a result of the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) recommendations, the Department of the Air Force will realign installations such as Andrews Air Force Base (AFB) to produce a more efficient and cost effective base structure for achieving national military objectives. The U.S. Air Force, Air Force District Washington (AFDW), and Andrews AFB have prepared this environmental assessment (EA) for the BRAC construction requirements at Andrews AFB, Maryland in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA); the Council of Environmental Quality regulations implementing the NEPA; and Title 32, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 989, as amended, The Environmental Impact Analysis Process.
