Abstract : This research seeks to quantify reaction kinetics and describe combustion dynamics of novel, biocidal, metal-based energetic materials. Techniques and facilities being developed to analyze Al reactions will be applied to novel metal systems, including Ti/B, Al/l, etc. The objectives of this research will be addressed by quantifying reaction dynamics of multicomponent reactive materials with biocidal products, identifying effects of environment, turbulence, and anaerobic reactions on combustion mechanism, and simplifying reaction models for use in large scale codes describing practical systems.
