Abstract : Cylindrical and spherical explosive geometries were damaged using an 18-millimeter (mm) smooth bore gun. Burning rates of the undamaged LX-10 sample were determined and used to evaluate the change in burn area ratio of the cylindrical samples using the closed bomb. The recovered spherical debris was dry screened with the majority of the sample distribution resulting in fragments in the two coarsest size fractions. The individual size fractions of the explosive were returned to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory for further analysis.
