Abstract : The 7th Bomb Wing (7 BW) is the host unit at Dyess Air Force Base (AFB) near Abilene, Texas (Figure 1-1 located at the end of the section). The 7 BW provides operational capability for Air Combat Command s (ACC s) largest B-1 bomber wing. The 7 BW delivers global power to support Joint Chiefs of Staff tasking for the joint/combined application of conventional air power worldwide, produces combat-ready aircrews in the only Air Force (AF) B-1 formal training unit, and provides aviation, logistics, base support, and medical infrastructure. Dyess' primary tenant organization is the 317 Airlift Group (317 AG) of Air Mobility Command (AMC). The 317 AG operates C-130 aircraft in support of airlift requirements worldwide.
