The thesis focuses on analyzing the provisions of the Inter-American Treaty for Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR) and bilateral agreement for military assistance between the Government of Honduras and the Government of the United States. The research methodology analyzes what have been the specific benefits gained by Honduras during the time the treaty has been in effect and what benefits it could receive in the future. There is also an analysis of what are the main limitations this bilateral agreement imposes on the Honduran Armed Forces in order to propose modifications or an expansion in scope while remaining within the broad agreement between both nations.
