Abstract : U.S. foreign policy and assistance has influenced and changed EI Salvador since 1992. Some of the most significant changes made by EI Salvador have been related to economic, rule of law, governance and elections, security and military. Economic and national security concerns have historically dominated the U.S. policy agenda toward EI Salvador, the United States has a moral imperative to promote the spread of democracy throughout the hemisphere and EI Salvador has proven to be a reliable partner in the Central American region in order to promote US. interests and also has become an example for the international community and how a small country can be benefitted with economic aid by complying with all the requirements to become a member of the Community of Democracies.
