Abstract : Medulloblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in children. We have found that Aspm, a gene required for normal brain growth in early childhood, becomes co-opted during medulloblastoma formation, to support tumor growth. We have found that Aspm supports growth by reducing stress to genomic DNA when cells divide. We have further found that targeting Aspm can reduce medulloblastoma growth.
