Abstract : The purpose of this research is to develop baseline research that can be expounded by future researchers to solidify the warrant officer track as a solution to creating a better contracting workforce through increased experience and more confidence within the contracting career field. This research investigates the perceived benefits and contrasting effects of adding the warrant officer track into the contracting career field. The assessment uses personal interviews and surveys covering job satisfaction model and expectancy theory. In addition, pay charts and scales are used to assess cost. Currently the Air Force (AF) is experiencing challenges in the contracting and acquisitions career field.
