Abstract : This report is written in response to a request from the Air Force Research Laboratory concerning research on rapid stabilization/polymerization of wet clay soils. The purpose of this report is to document the findings of a literature review (Phase I) carried out by the team assembled at Virginia Tech. The literature review covers approximately 200 papers, most of which deal with clay stabilization. This report contains the findings of this literature review, which are categorized by soil type, stabilization type, as well as other factors. This report also includes the recommendations of the Virginia Tech research team for a proposed research program for Phase II.
