Abstract : The Naval Postgraduate School Solar Cell Array Tester (NPS-SCAT) seeks to expand the CubeSat knowledge base and provide learning possibilities at the Naval Postgraduate School. This thesis discusses the design, testing, and integration of the electrical power sub-system for NPS-SCAT. The current design will be powered by a commercial-off-the-shelf power system developed by Clyde Space systems. Solar power generation will be via Spectrolab's improved triple junction solar cells. Satellite Tool Kit (STK) was used to approximate the expected power generation and communication periods while on orbit. The design, building and integration and testing of the solar panels using NuSil adhesive tape will also be discussed. Finally, the operational limits imposed on SCAT operations due to load and power generation capabilities of the electrical power system will also be discussed.
