Abstract : This TOP describes the procedures for conducting a rail impact test. The rail impact test is used to verify structural integrity of the test item and the adequacy of the tie-down system and tie-down procedures This TOP is intended for vehicles and equipment that will be transported by rail; to determine the effect of normal railroad car impacts that occur during rail shipment over the full life span of the test item.
