Abstract : After significant funding reduction this research program: pursued the design, implementation, and optimization of MAC protocols for variable sized IP packets; and experimentally investigated a laboratory model of a 2 fiber bi-directional path switched ring implementation of the HORNET architecture. The application arena for a IP-HORNET is the metropolitan area.
