Abstract:
The world is facing a paradigm shift as we enter an Information Age characterized by rapid change. The purpose of this project is to explore the implications of this new ERA on the United States Military Academy. The first part of the paper examines the forces shaping the 21st century and their relevance to the Academys mission of developing leaders for the Army and our nation. The second and third sections look at implications on the military as an organization and individual issues related to the leadermanager paradox. Trends in education reform and a possible education revolution are addressed in the fourth section. An analysis and recommendations for the Academys role in the future conclude the report.
