Abstract:
The Defense Science Board DSB Task Force for the C-17 program was convened in response to a request from the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition USDA. The USDA tasked the DSB to assess the current status of the C-17, to evaluate McDonnell Douglas Corporations MDCS capability to successfully complete the C-17 development and transition into production, and to identify the changes necessary to reduce risk and ensure the success of the C-17 program in accordance with the Terms of Reference included in Appendix A. The DSB did not address alternatives for fulfilling airlift requirements
