Abstract : This research in the last year has concentrated primarily on two areas: (1) the competition between interactions and randomness, especially as seen in the Coulomb glass; and (2) strongly correlated electrons with emphasis on the Kondo lattice. The competition between disorder and interactions is found in a wide variety of systems. For example, it may be possible to explain the low temperature properties of glasses with a model of randomly placed interacting defects.
