Abstract : Visual emissions have long been a concern of both private industry and government installations. Private industry control their visual emissions by various means such as electrostatic precipitators, fabric filtration systems and in some cases simple mechanical collection systems. These systems work because of the steady state operational procedures of most private industry facilities. This problem of visual emissions take on a whole new meaning when associated with gas turbine engine test cells. Operating procedures associated with these test cells seldom remain steady state, because of the operating procedures of test cells the previous mentioned control equipment are impractical and ineffective.
