Abstract : The use of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs), may assist in the installation of ocean sensors as long as their capabilities are understood. This paper describes a proof of concept experiment performed to test the ability of an ROV to install a simulated underwater array. The tests were performed by the NOSC Advanced Tethered Vehicle at a 2500 ft. site in September, 1991.
