Abstract : The author begins by describing the proliferation of Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBM's) in the Third World as well as future improvements expected in the range, accuracy, and lethality of these weapons. He concludes that TBM's are emerging as a threat to U.S. crisis-response forces at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels. He then goes on to discuss how the Marine Corps could obtain near-term expeditionary TBM defenses for its operating forces. He closes by recommending a Marine task-organization for dealing with the issues associated with TBM defense.
