Abstract : Effect of hyperbaric oxygen on wound healing by growth promoting factors: Epidermal growth factor (EGF), platelet derived growth factor (PDGF) and transforming growth factor B (TGFB). These compounds are of particular interest since they have been reported to increase collagenase secretion. EGF when applied directly to skin increased the rate of healing by 100%.
