Abstract : The High-Frequency Benchmark is a computer code being developed to employ a sophisticated ray tracing program coupled with a state-of-the-art ionospheric model of the user's choice. The merging of these two major components depends critically on the development of a spatial smoothing routine that accepts arbitrary ionospheric models as input. Such a spatial smoothing routine was developed and implemented in the Benchmark. This report describes improvements and enhancements to that computer program.
