Abstract : This paper takes a look at all the varied aspects of the manned strategic bomber and how the B-2 can play a part. A brief history of the strategic bomber is given along with a description of the Triad concept. The threat we are presented with today is discussed. The nuclear and conventional mission of the B-2 is analyzed and how its stealth technology works. The costs of the B-2 program including research and development are presented. Finally, what happens if the B-2 program is stopped? The options are discussed.
