Abstract : A computerized system for ultrasonic thickness determination of plated chromium during vessel plating of large caliber smooth bore tubes has been developed. Temperature compensation is used to minimize apparent thickness changes that are due to temperature fluctuations during plating. Real-time displays of chromium thickness, plating rate, and temperature at six locations on the tube are available.... Ultrasonics, Thickness, Electroplating, Chromium.
