Abstract : Premise: There is a need for change in the scientific culture to accommodate a new population. The need for change is compounded by the fact that science Itself has and is changing rapidly. We are faced with the challenge to lead the change, to create a new model of science based on the potential that diversity offers for greater creativity and greater sensitivity to societal needs. Purposes of the Conference: Exploring and developing strategies to improve the culture in science and the quality of scientific endeavor; Identifying factors that discourage interest and participation in science ;Improving communication by establishing a new model for interaction between scientists; Exploring ways to initiate positive change in diverse environments.
